While I was watching the major league baseball all-star game the other night I had a thought. I didn’t know if I had ever witnessed an all-star encounter where so many players looked like these were juiced up from either steroids or HGH.
What we have now are a bunch of Hulk Hogans playing the game. Yeah, get some pictures of them when they broke into the big leagues and compare them to what they look like now. No doubt there’s a lot of cheating going on.
Former big-leaguer Damon Minor, who ended his career just a couple of years ago, said that over 60 percent of the players now are cheating.
Does that surprise you? It shouldn’t. Remember these guys can bulk up on steroids during the off-season. And there’s no testing for HGH.
All the baseball people know what’s going on. But they look the other way. They like home runs because it puts more money into their bank accounts.
They knew Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds were cheating. But these guys helped save baseball after the sport took a vacation and went on strike. The home run chase was good for the sport.
If it wasn’t for Congress getting involved, there would be no testing for steroids now. The powerful baseball union wants no drug testing. And I doubt there will be a test for HGH anytime in the near future.
There are those who might think the steroid era has ended in baseball. They obviously didn’t see the all-star game.
